Red-D-Arc, an
Airgas
company, is North America’s largest welder rental company. We presently operate a rental fleet of over 40,000 welders, positioners, generators and welding-related specialty equipment from over 40 branch locations in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Our business includes rentals, leasing and used and new sales of welding and welding-related equipment and accessories.
Job Description
After a training program of 3 to 5 months develop rentals, lease and sales of welding equipment in an assigned geographic region by developing and following sales leads, making presentations in a professional manner, preparing quotes, maintaining all required literature, providing customer follow-up, access customer needs and recommend solutions. Some overnight travel is involved. Excellent communication skills are required.
Essential Duties
Develop and increase end user customer base by effective communication, assessment of needs and recommendation of solutions
Perform onsite equipment demonstrations
Make application recommendations of welding and positioning equipment
Provide back-up coverage at the branch location during vacations and shortages
Develop long-term supply relationships through contracts and/or agreements
Provide customer follow-up
Work as part of a team in providing customer solutions
Meet or exceed rental and sales goals specified in the market area
Represent the company at trade association meetings, trade shows promoting its products
Compile list of prospective customers for sales leads based on information from newspapers, business directories, trade journals and other sources
Maintain accurate and timely submission of sales call reports and expenses
Minimum Qualifications
Sales experience in either an industrial equipment rental or a welding equipment sales or rental environment Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications and equipment is strongly desirable
Should have sales experience within the construction, fabrication, and manufacturing sectors
Self-starter, self-motivated, sense of urgency, well organized, ability to achieve goals, ability to focus and pay attention to detail
Have the ability to develop and execute market/business plans
Must have excellent technical, oral and writing skills as well as strong interpersonal and management skills
Proven ability to make sound business decisions
Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups in a business setting
Good presentation and negotiating skills
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
Computer experience using Windows 97-2000 and Office 97-2000 applications
Ability to travel and be away from home 25-35% of the time
Clean driving record and at least 21 years of age
Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
