Job Description
Supervises shop personnel, conducts ongoing training on repairs with staff. Assigns work orders and ensures that orders are accurately filled and shipped on time. Schedules delivery and pickups of rental equipment from customer locations. Ensures that company standards are adhered to (including safety, paperwork, machine cosmetics, etc).
Essential Duties
Supervise repair staff.
Perform repair of welders and associated equipment.
Ensure that all rental fleet items meet the company standards, both mechanically and cosmetically, prior to shipment to a customer.
Communicate by phone and in person with vendors, customers, staff, store managers and others, providing information on equipment, repair times, etc.
Maintain inventory of spare parts for welders.
Maintain maintenance log to document time and supplies to accurately bill customers.
Practice good shop keeping, i.e. keeping work areas clean and hazard-free.
Ensure that all company owned vehicles are properly serviced and maintenance & DOT records are kept up to date.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum two years experience repairing industrial equipment.
Ability to supervise and work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
Excellent knowledge of mechanics and electricity.
Ability to read and comprehend vendor repair manual instructions.
Ability to use a Windows based PC to access vendor repair manuals on CD.
Ability to perform very heavy work -- routinely lift 25-75 lbs., occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be able to work occasional overtime, if necessary.
Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
