Additional Features

Description
The Mariner 5+3 is a 400 amp @ 60% duty cycle, constant current, DC diesel engine-driven welder with 3,000 watts 120 VAC auxiliary power. Its copper wound “pure DC” generator provides excellent welding characteristics and has enough power for gouging with up to 3/16" carbons. Output adjustment is via dual continuous output controls and the polarity of the output terminals is selected via a two-position polarity switch. Fine current control can be adjusted remotely by connecting a rheostat-type remote control to the standard remote control receptacle. A specially-built protective enclosure minimizes salt water intrusion and incorporates a built-in drip pan/reservoir to contain fluids in the event of an engine-oil or -coolant leak, as well as easy-opening access panels for convenient equipment operation and maintenance. Welding generator enhancements include modifications such as stainless steel brush holders for enhanced corrosion resistance in harsh environments.

Engine
Kubota F2803-BG, liquid-cooled, five cylinder, 38.4 HP @ 1800 rpm, 167.56 cu.in. Engine modifications include automatic over-run protection which automatically shuts off the engine in the event of excessive speed, an exhaust mounted spark arrestor, and a lifetime pre-fuel canister filter.

Features

  • Fuel efficient, low noise level, F2803 Kubota diesel engine with special offshore modifications
  • Engine runs at a constant 1800 RPM for longer service intervals, long engine life and low operating costs
  • Engine preheat provides excellent cold weather starting (with no ether required)
  • Automatic low oil pressure engine shutdown protection
  • High output, copper wound generator provides excellent welding characteristics
  • Full-protective enclosure is finished in a salt-water resistant three-coat paint
  • Built-in drip pan/reservoir
  • Pre-fuel separator protects the engine from fuel-borne contaminants
  • The engine is protected from hydrocarbon over-running or explosion with an automatic over-run shut down device
  • Battery ammeter, engine coolant temperature gauge, engine hour meter are standard
  • Single 120 VAC, 15 A duplex receptacle
  • Standard remote control receptacle
